Whether you’re looking to write fiction, nonfiction, memoir, or poetry, Story Magic is really about understanding who you are as a writer, and who you can become as an author. Through a combination of craft talks, writing sessions, Q+A, and live feedback, this three-hour workshop will help you to explore the deep creative within you that is ready to come out. It’s time to tell your truths and find your story.
In this three-hour workshop, we write on (and discuss) the following topics to get you on the path to publishing - and to find the story you were meant to write:
Write to Rise - We are going to first establish the meaning, intent, and confidence of your message so you can begin to determine the promise and approach of your story and your book.
Find Your People - We’ll do a brief audit of your current platform, determining the best ways for you to begin to build an audience, and here’s the real secret, it doesn’t all have to happen on social media!
Unpack Your Suitcase - We begin to establish the mechanics of your story, diving deeper into your message, and your memories, to develop the direction and genre of your book.
Query, Query, Query - Yes, we’ll even talk about query letters, but more importantly, we’ll talk about all the people you can ask for support, and ultimately, for representation of your project.
Rise to Write - And before we end, we establish your writing practice, determining the best plan, timeline, and strategy to start you on the path to publishing.
